How it all Began...
EST. 1979
In 1972, Tony Chukwudile went to Liberia for His university education where He met Miss Vera A. Stephens an African American Missionary who introduced Him to Child Evangelism. He asked God to see Him through His stay in Liberia for His studies and promised to return to Nigeria and teach His People about Child Evangelism.
On the 3rd of February 1979, with 1979 been “The International Year of the Child”, the Ministry officially launched out at Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Idi-Araba with an “Operation Reach the Child Campaign”. The name Children Evangelism Ministry was adopted in 1982 with the Vision to Lead Children to Christ and to correct the neglect of Child Evangelism by the Church.
Today, CEM is a registered ministry offering a variety of courses and training at different levels for children’s ministers, evangelists, pastors, school teachers, children’s counselors, etc…

Children Evangelism Ministry is an interdenominational, non-sectarian Christian missionary organization fully committed to the total development and welfare of the child. CEM believes that the child should be developed in a holistic manner in line with Luke 2:52 ‘And Jesus increased in wisdom (Mental) and stature (Physical) and in favor with God (Spiritual) and with man (Social)’.
